Visiting the Province

Our annual trip to the North-West

The MW Grand Master and Grand Lodge Officers were pleased to visit our Provincial brethren in the North in October. For those that arrived on the Monday the Provincial Executive hosted a welcome meal at a nearby restaurant. Tuesday we attended a meeting of St Annes 32 for a Passing ceremony and a buffet Festive Board at a nearby hotel. A social evening on the Wednesday saw us at the St Annes Palace, a local masonic hall which was converted from a former cinema. We rounded off the visit on Thursday with a meeting of the Royal Ark Mariners Lodge moored to Cornerstone Mark Lodge 3, which was held at the Rangemoor Temple and followed by a colorful in-house Festive Board.

Everyone should join!

It was amazing, everyone should join!” Those were the words of Lisa, a new Companion who along with Barbara travelled from Calahonda Lodge 53 in Spain to be Exalted into Royal Arch Freemasonry in Chapter of the Holy Sepulchre No. 6 at Rochford, Essex. The three Principals, Z, H and J and the Principal Sojourner delivered a beautiful ceremony to ensure that these two candidates had a day to remember. This was the first ceremony for MEZ Sue, H Elaine and J Angie since the Installation in November last year. Not even the presence of the 1st Grand Principal and the 3rd Grand Principal put them off. Anyone familiar with Royal Arch knows the important part played by the Principal Sojourner and Iskra certainly rose to the occasion. Proud Preceptor Jenny, (standing on the right) was delighted with the Officers. Director of Ceremonies Chrissy (Standing on the left) kept everything moving smoothly.

Working with UGLE

Freemasonry for Women has been working with the Province of Middlesex on their initiative to raise the profile of Freemasonry in the Middlesex area. Two events have been held so far, one at Twickenham and one at Harrow. The events were publicised on Facebook and many people expressed an interest.  Each event featured an introduction from Nigel Codron, the Assistant Provincial Grand  Master, followed by comprehensive explanations and illustrations. Grand Master Christine Chapman was asked to give a brief presentation on Women’s Freemasonry. The highlight of each event was the testimony of the young members  who talked about their journey in Freemasonry. The next event is scheduled for 7th March at the Hillingdon Masonic Centre.
