Calahonda Cuppa

Worshipful Master of Calahonda Lodge 53 Jan Owens was delighted when her friend Trish suggested a Tea, Cakes and Cards afternoon to raise funds for charity, offering to donate a percentage from the sale of her home made cards.  Members enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon and together with the proceeds of the raffle raised €257 towards the Master’s chosen charity.

Woman Freemason honoured with MBE

On Wednesday 24th February 2015 our Assistant Grand Master, Hedy-Joy Babani travelled to Buckingham Palace to be Invested with the MBE, by HRH Prince Charles, for services to disabled and disadvantaged children.  Our Fraternity is  immensely proud of her and our own Charity has also benefited from her tireless efforts to raise funds. Hedy has worked for Variety for many years and her fund-raising expertise has been put to good use to raise funds for our own HFAF Charity.

Our Northern Lodges are continuing to support the  Teddy Loving Care TLC initiative promoted by UGLE. Money is raised to provide Teddies to sick and distressed children in hospitals in the area. Our Provincial Grand Master Pat Rothwell (centre),  Past Provincial Grand Master Heather Hitchen (left) and Deputy Provincial Grand Master Brenda Cook (right) braved the wind and weather to meet one of the paramedics and his teddy friends.

Ripcord Rosa's last leap

rosakingston

Our Past Grand Treasurer, Very Worshipful Rosa Kingston will be jumping out of a plane on the 14th of October in aid of the Royal Marsden Hospital’s Cancer Fund.

Rosa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December 2013. Under the care of the Royal Marsden, Rosa has lived to become a great grandmother and seen her grandson marry, two other grandchildren graduate from University and her daughter get engaged. Her cancer is now terminal and she wants to give something back to the hospital for the fantastic care she has received.

You can read more about Rosa’s fundraising here: https://www.justgiving.com/Rosa-Kingston/
