Ambassadors America

On 26th and 28th May, a further group of American women came to HQ and were Initiated, Passed and Raised over the Bank Holiday weekend. This means that the new Lodge when it is consecrated next year in Washington, DC will have at least 14 members. The hard working Ambassadors Team are to be congratulated on their dedication in helping to advance this project another stage towards fruition

New home for Lodge Bharati 56

Having had three homes since their Consecration in December 2016, Lodge Bharati 56 have now moved to what they hope will be their permanent home in New Delhi.

D-159,FF Surajmal Vihar, New Delhi.110092.

They held their Installation meeting on Sunday 21st January 2018 at the new venue when W Bro Sadhana Rao was proclaimed as WM for a second year. It is hoped that progression of Officers will begin in earnest in January 2019 .

A year in the life of Lodge Bharati 56

Lodge Bharati 56 celebrated its 1st Birthday with a lodge meeting followed by a Gala Evening with friends and family at Zest in Delhi. When this lodge was consecrated it was envisaged that they would initially hold four meetings a year. However we seriously underestimated the determination of W. Sadhana Rao and her Officers  They started life with 21 members and during the past year have Initiated another 10 Members.   There is a strong desire amongst the women of India to participate in Freemasonry and we have a feeling that it won’t be long before we are asked to consecrate a second HFAF Lodge in India.

It should also also be mentioned that in the summer our indomitable Indian  Brethren also celebrated their half year meeting with a party. They took the lodge to Behror in Rajasthan for a special meeting to admit a candidate from this area

Sun still shining for Tranquility Lodge

Saturday 23rd September saw the annual Installation meeting of Costa Blanca Lodge of Tranquility No. 52 when W. Bro. Wendy Sharpe was Installed as Worshipful Master. The Lodge was delighted to welcome visitors from London especially the Grand Master Christine Chapman and the Deputy Grand Master Irene Stewart Founding Members of the Lodge.

Autumn Special in Bucharest

Alpha Lodge No. 54 held their Installation meeting at the Ramada Hotel on Sunday 10th September. It was a unique Installation ceremony for the new Worshipful Master Cristina. Due to a sudden family bereavement the outgoing Master W Bro Simona was unable to attend,  so the Lodge was assisted by the three Founding Masters who were visiting from the UK.

US women join HFAF

On Saturday 1st July seven American women were admitted into our Fraternity with a view to consecrating a Lodge in Washington DC. They came to us via UGLE where they had originally directed their enquiry. After much correspondence between their leader and the Grand Secretary they eventually travelled to London on the 30th June and were interviewed by the Grand Master and the Grand Secretary. On  the Saturday they took the first two Degrees of our Craft ritual utilising Ambassadors Lodge 13 which will also travel to Washington next year. On Monday 3rd July they returned to HQ to take their 3rd Degree to become Master Masons. Many of the Brethren who had visited India the previous year assisted in these ceremonies as by now they were experts at multiple candidate ceremonies. The Grand Inspector General oversaw all the details of these ceremonies to ensure they ran smoothly. Further brethren will come over in the autumn to be admitted.

Freemasonry on the Rock

As part of our annual visit to the Costa Del Sol we made an an excursion across the border to visit Gibraltar Lodge 47 for their Installation meeting on Wednesday 14th June. Before the meeting an interview was recorded with the Grand Master Christine Chapman and later with the new Worshipful Master Yvette Sanguinetti specially for Gibraltar TV.

We were particularly delighted to attend this meeting as Yvette was a first-time Master and it was particularly moving to see how much it meant to her.

Sun still shining on Calahonda 53

Monday 12th June, another sunny day here on the Costa del Sol for the Installation meeting of Calahonda Lodge 53. W. Bro. Jan Owens was Installed for a 3rd year into the Chair. W. Bro. Jan has presided over two incredible years for the lodge during which time they have had many new candidates and have raised much needed funds for DEBRA the charity for Butterfly Children.

The Grand Master had a meeting with the Provincial Grand Master of Andalucia  Giles Crawford to discuss Calahonda Lodge being invited to their Annual Assembly to make a joint presentation to DEBRA.

Gibraltar celebrates 30 years

June saw the 30th Anniversary of Freemasonry for Women on the Rock. This joyous occasion was tinged with sadness as news had been received of the death of the founder of Gibraltar Lodge, MW Bro Sheila Norden. The lodge has been thrilled to finally have their own premises which unfortunately although perfect for lodge meetings are not big enough for Installation meetings which are held at the Mechanics Institute. Grand Master Christine Chapman was accompanied by the Past Deputy Grand Master Irene Stewart, the Junior Grand Warden, Jenny Noble and the Grand DC, Chrisssy West-Webbe.  A sight-seeing trip was arranged for the illustrious visitors.
